Introduction to Parkour:
2 SPOTS LEFT!
As described by the International Dog Parkour Association (www.dogparkour.org) Dog Parkour is thought of as urban agility. It is a fun activity that teaches dog to safely and confidently engage with obstacles in the environment. Dogs are taught how to climb, balance, jump among other activities. I would add that Dog Parkour can double as a fantastic and quick way to engage your dog mentally and physically. This class is ideal for dogs that need a “job,” energetic dogs (that are driving their people craa-zy!) as well as dogs that need to learn to enjoy novel things.
In this introductory course we will work on having dogs climb, balance, step backwards and go around.
Open to 4 handlers and their dogs ages 5 months onward
Dogs are comfortable working around people and other dogs on leash. No lunging, growling or excessive barking.
Rabies, DHLPP (distemper & parvo) or titer test. Proof of vaccination required at first class.

Many dogs are labeled: “hyper, “stubborn” “ problem dogs” or “aggressive” when in fact, it is their lack of confidence that is the underlining factor for their behavior. As the guardians of these dogs will attests, living with a dog that lacks confidence is a challenge.
In this six weeks course, we will explore a myriad of activities based on reward based dog training as well as the Tellington TTouch® method to build your dog’s confidence and increase his well being.
Together we will develop a dog that is a thinking dog instead of a reacting dog.
Your dog will develop trust, self-awareness and how to cope with a constantly changing environment. As a result he will learn to respond to novel situations with curiosity as opposed to fear.
This course is ideal for young dogs that need more structure, dogs with mild fears or lack overall confidence.
Prerequisite: No prior training experienced needed. However, since a group class can be a stressful environment for some dogs, this class is not appropriate for dogs that lunge, bark or snarl at people or other dogs. If your dog suffers from severe fear or aggression consider private training as a great first step before joining a group class.
Dates & Time: Saturday May 11th, 18th, 25th, June 1st, 8th and 15th . From 11am -12 noon. Registration closes Wed. May 8th at 5 pm.
First class is a people-only class, no dogs please. Open to six dogs age 5 months and older and their guardians.
Required Vaccinations: Rabies, DHLPP (distemper & parvo). Proof of vaccination required at 1︎st class. Or titer test results in lieu of DHLPP vaccines.
